Privacy policy

What data we handle, why, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights. Written to be read straight through, with no fine print.

Effective from October 14, 2026

In short

Only for your case: your fingerprints, documents and data are used for the service you hire us for.

We do not sell your data: or share it so others can send you advertising.

Optional cookies, only with your permission: analytics and advertising are turned on only if you accept them.

You decide: you can ask to see, correct or delete your data.

Who is responsible for your data

Compliance Officers is the trade name under which Riveros International Business Corp, a Florida corporation (United States), provides its services. It is responsible for the personal data you entrust to us on this site, on WhatsApp, by phone, by email or at our offices in Miami and Bogotá.

What data we handle

We only ask for what we need to answer you or to handle the case you hire us for.

  • When you write to us: your name, the country you are writing from, your WhatsApp number or email, the language you want us to reply in, the service you are interested in and whatever you tell us in your message.
  • When you hire us: the data and documents the authority requires, such as your full name, date and place of birth, nationality, passport or ID number and mailing address. For FBI background checks and LiveScan fingerprinting, also your fingerprints. For a BOI report, the details of the company and its beneficial owners; for a FOIA request, whatever the agency requires.
  • When you pay: your name, email, billing address and the details of your order. Your card number is processed by the payment gateway: we never see or store it.
  • About other people or companies: in a due diligence, an OFAC or politically exposed person (PEP) screening, or a background check for online dating, we handle data about the person or company you ask us to review, obtained from public records and verifiable sources.
  • When you browse: technical data such as your device and browser, the pages you visit and where your visit comes from, through cookies (see “Cookies and analytics”).

What we use it for

  • Answering your inquiry and sending you our written proposal.
  • Providing the service you hire us for: preparing, reviewing and filing your request with the relevant authority, and delivering the result to you.
  • Charging you, issuing your invoice and meeting our accounting, tax and legal obligations.
  • Handling complaints and defending our rights.
  • Protecting our forms against spam.
  • Measuring how the site is used and how our ads perform, if you accept those cookies.

We handle your data because you give it to us to get an answer or a service, because a law requires us to (for example, to invoice and keep accounting records) or because you give us your permission, as with optional cookies. We do not make automated decisions that affect you.

Fingerprints and identity documents

These are the most sensitive data we handle, and we treat them with extra care.

  • They are used only for the case you hire us for, and for nothing else.
  • They are handled by the consultant in charge of your file: no one outside your case has access to them.
  • For FBI background checks, we file them with the FBI through an FBI-approved channeler, a third party that is not part of the firm, or on the FD-258 card.
  • For Florida licenses, LiveScan prints go directly to the FDLE and the FBI, which send the result to the agency that requested it, such as the DBPR. If you have your fingerprints taken in Bogotá, we submit them from Miami.
  • Physical documents always travel with a tracking number.
  • Giving us your fingerprints is voluntary, but without them an FBI background check cannot be requested and LiveScan fingerprinting cannot be done.
  • We delete your fingerprints and copies of your identity document from our systems 30 days after we deliver your result, unless a law requires us to keep them or you ask us to keep them for another case.

You can see how we look after a file, step by step, in How we work.

Who we share it with

Only with those who need it for your case or to keep the site running, and only what is necessary.

  • The authorities that decide your case: the FBI, through an FBI-approved channeler; the U.S. Department of State, for the apostille; FinCEN; the FDLE; the DBPR; or the federal agency a FOIA request is addressed to.
  • Courier companies that carry your documents or the FD-258 card.
  • Providers that work on our behalf: site hosting and the payment gateway (GoDaddy and GoDaddy Payments), email, WhatsApp (Meta), the site chat (Kommo), spam protection for our forms (Google reCAPTCHA), the cookie notice (CookieYes), the site security seal (TrustedSite) and site and ad measurement (Google and OpenAI).
  • Authorities, judges or courts, when a law or a valid order requires it.

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone so they can send you advertising.

Cookies and analytics

Necessary cookies make the site, the forms and the cart work, and are always on. Analytics and advertising cookies are only turned on if you accept them in the cookie notice.

With your permission, Google Analytics tells us which pages are read and where visits come from, and Google Ads and OpenAI tell us whether an ad led to an inquiry. If you do not accept them, they store no cookies in your browser: the OpenAI pixel does not load, and Google only receives cookieless signals it uses to estimate visits.

Two services always load, because they are part of how we serve you: the Kommo chat button and the TrustedSite security seal, which stores cookies to count visits.

You can see the list of cookies and change your choice at any time: open cookie preferences.

Where your data is stored

Our systems and most of our providers are in the United States. If you write to us from another country, your data travels to the United States, which is where the case you ask us for is handled. We apply the rules of this policy to it, wherever you are.

How long we keep it

  • Inquiries that do not lead to a case: we delete them as soon as the inquiry closes without leading to a case.
  • Files and invoices: for as long as the service lasts and, afterwards, for as long as accounting, tax and legal rules require.
  • Fingerprints and copies of identity documents: 30 days after we deliver your result.
  • Cookies: the period shown in the cookie preferences panel.

How we protect it

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to files is limited to the team handling your case, physical documents travel with a tracking number and our forms are protected against spam. No system is infallible: if an incident affected your data, we would notify you as the law requires.

Your rights and how to exercise them

At any time, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct any data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete it, when it is no longer needed or you withdraw your permission, unless a law requires us to keep it;
  • stop a particular use or limit how we use it;
  • withdraw your permission for optional cookies or for receiving messages from us.

Email us at info@complianceofficers.org with the subject “Privacy”. To protect your data, we may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply within 15 business days at most.

If you live in Colombia, you also have the rights granted by Law 1581 of 2012 and, if you are not satisfied with our answer, you can turn to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC). If you live in the European Union, you can turn to the data protection authority of your country.

Minors

Our services are intended for adults, and the site does not knowingly collect data from minors. If a case requires a minor’s data, it is provided by their parent or legal guardian.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version here with its date. If the change is significant and we have your contact details, we will let you know. This version is effective from October 14, 2026.
