It depends on your immigration profile and on where you can have your fingerprints taken. U.S. citizens and permanent residents use LiveScan at our Miami or Bogotá office; non-citizens use the FD-258 card in person. If you cannot get to either office, the route from abroad works for any profile. If the report is for an authority outside the United States, it almost always has to carry the apostille. If in doubt, message us before you pay.

Timelines start once we have your complete documents, and we confirm the estimated date in writing before you pay.
Your valid passport and your fingerprints, taken at our offices or on the FD-258 card from the kit. For the remote route, you also send us the original card to Miami. We tell you what to sign and in which order.
The request has to be filed again with new prints. With LiveScan, the new capture is free with the FBI’s rejection letter; with an FD-258 card, the resubmission fee is 50% of the no-apostille package, or 78 USD with apostille. To avoid it, we review every print before filing.
No. We are a private compliance firm. You can request your report directly from the FBI (fbi.gov); we charge for fingerprinting, review, filing and the apostille, in addition to the government fees.
